Like its name implies, Viking 007 elastomer is a versatile high modulus elastomer designed to handle the most difficult missions. Suitable for WBM, OBM and SBM drilling and workover application, 007 is a high performance NBR rated to 320degF with over 150,000 hours of operation in every challenging North American basin. With a 25% higher durometer rating than most elastomers, 007 holds its rotational speed and horsepower longer, delaying the inevitable stall from weaker elastomers. Viking’s proprietary formulation is a medium/high grade NBR with excellent thermal expansion properties to minimize swell as the temperature rises, aniline points fluctuate, or fluid additives become more aggressive. Viking doesn’t stop at the elastomer formulation as the success of a Power Section requires a superior manufacturing process.
We offer a large variety of models that are proven in downhole performance. From our coil tubing and thru tubing line all the way up through 9 5/8 Power sections we have it all. Viking incorporates several patented manufacturing technologies that delivers 23% increased bond strength versus conventional elastomers, 20% tighter manufacturing tolerance band than competitors, and Viking is the only manufacturer capable of converting conventional stators into uniform rubber thickness with our DuraTorque® technology. The Viking DuraTorque uniform rubber thickness power section is the only stator that incorporates a mechanical bonding system between the tube and the elastomer. Viking’s patented interior profile creates a larger surface bonding area and a stepped interior profile for a mechanical interface that traditional machined profiles do not offer. Additionally, the modular construction of the DuraTorque allows the stator to flex but not break in tight doglegs, helping with build rates without sacrificing tube integrity.
As part of our commitment to precision and performance, Viking now operates a dedicated rotor machining facility at our Northpark location.
Using advanced Weingartner machines, we maintain complete control over the machining process — ensuring every rotor meets the highest standards of accuracy, durability, and quality.
Our investment in in-house manufacturing gives us the flexibility and speed to support our customers with industry-leading turnaround times and unmatched product consistency.
New and existing bearings are custom-engineered and designed by our team of experienced engineers to meet customers’ specific requirements and help operators overcome challenges, improving their returns. They are precision-ground to size and held to a tight tolerance.
Our radial bearings, flow bearings and flow diverters for drilling mud motors are available in many sizes with a durable design that provides superior wear resistance in the harshest drilling environments. These carbide matrix bearings and tungsten carbide tile bearings are available in sizes ranging from 2-7/8” to 12-1/4.”
Our engineering services are available to assist you in creating a custom bearing for your downhole motor application.
From average to extreme drilling operations, our elastomer doesn’t just compete, it excels. While our other elastomers are effective in general drilling conditions, this HNBR blend is purpose-built to conquer high-temperature challenges.
It's more than just an elastomer - it’s a targeted solution that meets the needs of operators working in a variety of conditions, extreme or not.
